Ford Makes Ranger Withdrawal, Airbag Is The Cause

JAKARTA - Car manufacturer from the United States, Ford announced a recall on its flagship pickup truck, Ranger, due to problems with airbag components that are not well installed.

Quoted by Reuters on Saturday, March 4, Ford's withdrawal applies to the 2004-2005 Ranger production which was also previously hit by the 2017-2018 recall process with the same problem.

Ford stated that the second time the Ford Ranger was withdrawn was not due to a new accident. Even so, based on data, there were 30 deaths worldwide, 24 of which occurred in the US with three cases involving the Ford Ranger.

The accident case is thought to be due to the problematic Takata branded airbag. The number of Ford Ranger cars affected by the recall was 98,500 units.

The Ford Ranger, which has been recalled, is the third generation for the American region.

However, that hasn't stopped Ford from producing their newest pickup truck, the F-150 Lightning. They will start production on March 13, 2023 after previously stopping production due to a battery fire case on February 4 at Ford's auto storage warehouse in Michigan.
