Troubled With The Brakes, Mercedes-Benz Conducts A Recall Process On G-Class

Mercedes-Benz reportedly withdrew around 26 thousand Mercedes-Benz G-Class worldwide due to potential problems with braking systems.

Reporting from Carscoops, the occurrence of a recall at the Mercedes-Benz G-Class was caused by a braking system that had malfunctions. Cables connecting ABS and Stability Control are reportedly prone to being disconnected and it is feared that something unwanted will happen.

The total number affected by the recall of 26,116 G-Class units worldwide. The affected units are the G550 produced from 2019 to 2021. Then, there is AMG G63 production from 2018 to 2021.

Although they have only received 12 guarantee claims from these car consumers, so far there have been no reports of accidents that caused injuries to casualties.

Mercedes will start the recall process on G-Class as of April 18. Car owners can directly come to the dealer to carry out the car recall process and consumers do not need to spend the slightest amount.

To anticipate the damage, Mercedes-Benz will install a shield on the cable to prevent damage. For Indonesia, it is still unknown whether it will be subject to the recall process or not.
