The Attorney General's Office Implements Scientific Evidence Regarding The Corruption Of The Bengkulu Toll Road
JAKARTA - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) applies a scientific evidence method in the process of investigating the alleged corruption case of land acquisition of the Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung toll road.Kasi Investigation of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office, Danang Prasetyo Dwiharjo, in Bengkulu City, Saturday, said that related to the expansion of evidence in the investigation of the case, special criminal investigators from the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office used a scientific proof method. "We ensure that investigations into allegations of corruption of land acquisition of the Bengkulu-Taba Penjung toll continue to the prosecution," said Danang quoting Antara, Sunday. With the application of scientific evidence methods, it is difficult to prove in general, which requires explanation and scientific methods by experts in the process of proof. The investigation also uses a normative study with a statutory approach and is prescriptive. This is because the investigation into the alleged corruption of land acquisition of the Bengkulu-Taba Penjung toll road in 2019-2020 was sourced from the State Expenditure Revenue Budget (APBN) of Rp. 200 billion. "Currently, we have significant progress because in addition to having examined hundreds of witnesses and the investigative team also used the scientific proof method as an extension of evidence of the case," he said.
Previously, the Head of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) Heri Germany stated that the estimated loss in the Bengkulu - Taba Penanjung toll land acquisition case in 2019-2020 reached Rp. 13 billion. "Regarding the case of land acquisition of toll roads, we are still carrying out the calculation of state losses and for the time being, we have found Rp. 13 billion," he explained. In the case of land acquisition, it is suspected that there was an overpayment (mark up) with the mode of increasing costs on the expense component of land and building rights (BPHTP) and notary costs that should not be included in the land acquisition component. For the location of the alleged indication of corruption cases in the growth compensation, it is located at several points along the land in the first phase of the toll road construction area, namely Bengkulu-Taba Penjung.
