Deontay Wilder About Tommy Fury's Victory: Jake Paul Was Robbed

JAKARTA - Deontay Wilder claims something is wrong with Jake Paul's defeat to Tommy Fury in the fight last weekend. He felt Paul was robbed by the referee because the YouTuber should have won over the jury's assessment.

In the fight that was held in Saudi Arabia, Tommy Fury won a split decision over Jake Paul even though he had fallen in the last round. From that victory, Fury got a one-point deduction for staying in the game.

Meanwhile, Paul got a one-point deduction for hitting Fury in the back of the head which referee Hector Afu called immature.

Fury then celebrated after the two judges on duty gave a score of 76-73 for his victory. While the other jury gave Paul a score of 75-74.

Wilder insisted that the YouTuber should have raised his hand at the end of the match. "I think Jake got that point," said Wilder as quoted by The Sun on Wednesday, March 1.

"That was an adult point. The referee should have given him at least three warnings. He didn't give him any warning at all," continued Wilder.

Asked again if Paul should have won, he replied, "I think so. With the knockout, he confirmed his win. He got that point."

"I think Jake Paul needs that knockout, and when he does, it balances things. I think he just gives it to Fury because of the points taken," he said again.

With that result, Fury stated that he was willing to do a rematch if Paul wanted him before the opponent issued a number of reasons for his defeat.

Fury also dedicated this victory to his girlfriend, Molly-Mae Hague and his newborn baby Bambi.

"Over the last two and a half years, this (match) has seized my life, but tonight I have secured my own legacy," he said.

"I dedicate this to my newborn baby, Bambi, at home and my wife, I miss you dear, I love you," said Fury.
