Prosecutors Demand Perpetrators Of Rape Of Biological Child In Ambon 20 Years In Prison
AMBON - The Ambon Kejari public prosecutor charged the defendant Jefry Tuhalauruw alias Stevi with 20 years in prison on charges of continuing rape of minors.
"Asking the panel of judges who examined and tried this case to declare the defendant legally and convincingly proven guilty of violating Article 81 paragraph (3) of Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," said Public Prosecutor Beatrix Novi Temar as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 27.
The prosecutor's demands were conveyed before the Ambon District Court judges led by Helmin Somaly and accompanied by two member judges.
Previously, the defendant divorced his wife. The defendant's ex-wife returned to Sidoarjo with the victim who was then 4 years old. The victim was returned to Ambon to live with the defendant when he was 9 years old.
The assault on the victim was first carried out in 2020, or when his biological child was 10 years old.
The defendant's actions that took place in their living room, said the Public Prosecutor, accompanied by threats not to be notified to other people so that the victim felt ashamed and traumatized.
In his defense, the defendant's legal adviser, Robert Lesnussa, asked the panel of judges to release the defendant from all the prosecutor's demands. This is because his client did not do this.
The panel of judges postponed the trial until next week with the agenda of hearing the panel's decision.
