Manchester United Champion Of The English League Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes The Material Of Cem Lecturer Fans

JAKARTA - Megastar Cristiano Ronaldo received a lot of ridicule after Manchester United confirmed itself to be the winner of the English League Cup or the 2022/2023 Carabao Cup.

The Red Devils locked the title after a 2-0 win over their opponent Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium, London, Sunday, February 26 evening WIB. This is Erik ten Hag's first title as manager.

Hours after the victory, their former player Ronaldo was caught attending a boxing battle between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury which took place at the Diriyah Arena.

In a video uploaded by ESPN on Twitter, 38-year-old player who is currently playing alongside Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr after a sexual move earlier this year, was seen present with his son Cristiano Jr.

Immediately the upload was immediately flooded with ridicule from fans. They said Ronaldo should have lifted the trophy had he not made a controversial interview that led to a move to Arabia.

"LOL! Losing the chance. He could have lifted the trophy, but instead sat watching Jake Paul's boxing match," wrote one of the accounts as quoted by The Sun.

In the video post Ronaldo is seen holding his cell phone before placing it on the table moments after the commentator mentioned his name.

Seeing that moment, a supporter wrote, "He is seeing photos of the trophy from Manchester United."

There were other users who even asked the admin who uploaded the content to ask Ronaldo if he watched the game when Manchester United won over Newcastle. "Ask him if he's watching United's game," he wrote.

However, there are users who provide defense for Ronaldo. They say CR7 has so far won many major trophies so he doesn't need to prove anything else.

"It's just a matter of time to be fair," wrote someone

"What he has to prove, he has won everything," said another.

The victory over Newcastle saw Manchester United win their first trophy since 2017.

Meanwhile, Newcastle's wait for a trophy since 1969 had to continue after two goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford came in six minutes towards the end of the first half.
