Can't Hold It Again, KRL Passengers Finally Born At Yogyakarta Monument Station

YOGYAKARTA - A passenger on the Palur-Yogyakarta KRL gave birth upon arrival at Yogyakarta Tugu Station on Sunday, February 26 evening.

The passenger was assisted by doctors and health workers who were on guard at the station when it was time to give birth when he just got off the train.

"The passenger just got off the KRL of the Palur-Yogyakarta relation and had time to sit on the chair of the waiting room of the Tugu Station before being taken to the health post by officers," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Operational Area (Daop) 6 Yogyakarta Franoto Wibowo in a written statement, Monday, February 27, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, a KAI security officer who was on patrol controlled the condition of the station saw a woman sitting in a waiting room chair in pain.

Officers went to the woman to ask about her condition and immediately realized that the woman was pregnant.

The security officer together with the KAI Commuter passenger service officer then took the pregnant woman from Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, to the Tugu Station Health Post.

Passengers also undergo an examination by the doctor on guard and are known to be giving birth.

"With the help of doctors, general nurses, and midwives from KAI, the mother gave birth to a baby girl at exactly 20.33 WIB," he said.

The delivery process went smoothly. The mother and baby who were accompanied by their family were then referred to Bethesda Hospital for further treatment.

Referring to the incident, Franoto appealed to all customers not to hesitate to ask for help or assistance from officers on the train or in the station area if they needed help.

KAI officers are ready to provide services and assistance to customers 24 hours. Don't hesitate to ask for help," he said.

He also hopes that passengers can maintain health conditions when traveling using public transportation modes and continue to prioritize safety.
