Genjot Vaksin COVID-19, 1,294 Warga Belitung Sudah Dituntik Dosis Keempat
BeLITUNG - The Health Office of Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, recorded 1,294 residents in the area received the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination.
"We noted that 1,294 residents in Belitung had received the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination," said Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Belitung Health Office, Sri Agustini, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, February 26.
Residents in Belitung who have received the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination are 776 health workers, 64 elderly people, 109 public servants and 345 vulnerable the general public.
"We will continue to socialize to the public about the provision of the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination," he said.
Sri explained that the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination was given to protect the body from transmission of COVID-19.
"Of course it functions to protect and increase the body's year's power from the transmission of COVID-19," he said.
He appealed to people who have received the third dose of COVID-19 vaccination (booster) to continue to carry out the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination.
"So that the immune system is stronger than the transmission of COVID-19," he said.
He said, while the achievement of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination in the area was 147,329 people from the target of 161,444 people (91.26 percent), the second dose was 133,541 people (82.72 percent), the third dose was 55,158 people (43.28 percent).
"We continue to strive to increase the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination for people in all groups," he said.
He invited people who have not vaccinated against COVID-19 to immediately visit the available health facilities and vaccine outlets.
"The provision of COVID-19 vaccination is important to protect oneself from the transmission of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of death due to COVID-19," he said.
