Baiquni Wibowo Was Sentenced To 1 Year In Prison, As Evidenced By The Investigation Of Brigadier J's Case
JAKARTA - The defendant Baiquni Wibowo was found guilty in the obstruction of justice case or obstruction to the investigation into the death of Brigadier J. The panel of judges sentenced him to one year in prison.
"The defendant Baiquni Wibowo has been sentenced to one year in prison," said Chief Judge Afrizal Hadi during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Friday, February 24.
Apart from being criminalized, Baiquni was also sentenced to a fine of Rp. 10 million, subsidiary to three months in prison.
The verdict handed down to the former Head of Subdivision of the Baggak Etika Subdivision, Rowabprof, Police Propam Division, was based on several considerations. For burdensome matters, the defendant committed an act that was not based on a valid order.
Meanwhile, the consideration of mitigating the defendant Baiquni Wibowo is considered to have received several awards from the state to be polite during the trial.
In the panel of judges' decision, Baiquni Wibowo was proven to have copied the contents of the CCTV DVR of the Police Complex security post, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. Where, it shows that Brigadier J was still alive when Ferdy Sambo arrived at his official residence.
Then, Baiquni also deleted a copy of the CCTV footage. This was done on Ferdy Sambo's orders.
In fact, the CCTV footage is important evidence for the disclosure of the Brigadier J murder case. In particular, exposing the scenario made by Ferdy Sambo.
The defendant was guilty of violating Article 49 in conjunction with Article 33 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
