Europa League Draw Results: Manchester United Avoided From Arsenal's Opposite Meeting

JAKARTA - The draw for the last 16 of the 2022/2023 Europa League has been completed. The draw also brought together several big teams.

The draw took place at UEFA headquarters, House of European Football, in Nyon, Switzerland, Friday, February 24 at 18.00 WIB or 12.00 local time there.

Based on the draw, Manchester United (MU) will face Spanish representatives Real Betis. Meanwhile, Arsenal will face Portuguese giant Sporting Lisbon.

In the round of 16 later, the Red Devils will first host Betis at Old Trafford. After that, both teams will play away matches to Betis' headquarters at the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

The Red Devils made sure to qualify for the round of 16 after beating La Liga leaders Barcelona 2-1 in the second leg of the play-off match at Old Trafford Stadium on Friday morning.

The result made MU ensure that they were 4-3 on the Spanish giants after the two teams drew 2-2 in the first leg which took place at the Camp Nou Stadium.

Meanwhile, Arsenal got a ticket to this round after qualifying as group winners. The group title made the Gunners play away matches first before hosting Sporting at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, heavy clouds will also be faced by representatives of Italy, Juventus, and AS Roma. Juventus are confirmed to meet Germany's Freiburg representative who is currently ranked fourth in the German Bundesliga standings.

Meanwhile, Roma will be challenged by another Spanish representative, namely Real Sociedad. Sociedad currently follows Barcelona and Real Madrid in third place in the La Liga standings.

The Europa League round of 16 match will take place on March 10 and 17th. Teams that qualify as champions will first play away matches to the headquarters of the teams that pass through the playoffs.
