Skelerated Land At East Jakarta KBT Turns Into Green Open Space, Residents Claim To Be Happy To Have A New Park

Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Heru Budi Hartono paid a visit to the Interaction Park located on Jalan Inspeksi Flood Canal (KBT), Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta on Thursday, February 23.

The 1.300 square meter park was previously abandoned. Then it was repaired into a community interaction park that can be used as a means of education and green open space.

The park is also equipped with children's play facilities for the general public. The plan is for the interaction park to open on Friday.

"Before it was created, this land was misused to dispose of waste, put used goods so that trees were not maintained. This 1300 meter area of land is a means of education, playgrounds and places for planting rare plants," said Lurah Duren Sawit, Santi Nur Rifiandini to reporters, Thursday, February 23.

This interaction park is one of the leading structuring areas of the East Jakarta City Government. Apart from being an educational tool, this interaction park is an effort to create clean environmental beauty and eliminate slum impressions.

"Previously it was opened, but we have not provided an operational schedule. Starting tomorrow, the schedule has been listed in front of us, early children can take advantage of this area," he said.

The plan to open an interaction park also received a positive response from residents around the location. Imah, one of the local residents, hopes that the government will always maintain the park and prepare special land for traders to keep it neat.

"As a resident, I am very happy that there is a new park, then many visitors come. We are trading here, so many stop by to buy. My son can also play there (the park). The hope is that he will be more advanced and have five feet prioritized," he hoped.
