Evacuation Of Trans-Sliver For Timor Island NTT Is Targeted For 2 Weeks, BPJN: The Line Is Long And High
The dredging of landslide material at KM 73 Jalan Trans Pulau Timor in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) takes approximately two weeks.
Head of the National Road I I Implementation Task Force, BPJN X NTT Province, Azhari said his party's prediction was due to the unusual dredging.
"We need about two weeks for the process of dredging landslide material, considering that the route is very long and high," he said when met at a landslide location in Noelmina Village, Takari District, Kupang, NTT, Sunday, February 19, was confiscated by Antara.
He said the process of dredging landslide materials had problems because workers who dredged using excavators had to be careful with landslide areas that could landslide again at any time.
Currently, to speed up the dredging process, his party has deployed seven excavator units, plus one loader to accelerate the dredging of landslide material.
"There will be more, but we will carry out the work process with an alternate system, because it is prone if there are more heavy equipment at the landslide location," said Azhari.
Currently, he said, the obstacle faced is that if there is high intensity rain, it is feared that there will be another subsequent landslide, and the dredging process will also stop.
In addition, the large number of people who saw the dredging process made the mobilization of trucks that threw landslide materials long.
Therefore, Azhari hopes that the police can help by preventing the public from being close to the disaster site.
Sebelumnya longsor terjadi di Jalan Trans Pulau Timor di NTT pada Jumat 17 Februari malam. Akibatnya akses transportasi yang menghubungkan wilayah Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara, Kabupaten Belu, Kabupaten Malaka, serta Timor Leste, putus total.
Currently, people who want to cross from Kupang City and vice versa must go through a steep and dangerous alternative route.
In addition, the community can also take advantage of alternative routes by sea.
The Provincial Government (Pemrov) of NTT has opened passenger and logistics services using the Passenger Motor Ship (KMP) of Sabu Island to the Timor Island area.
The opening of lanes to ensure the logistics distribution process, such as fuel oil (BBM) and basic necessities to areas in South Central Timor Regency, North Central Timor, Belu Regency, and Malacca Regency, remains smooth.
"Another alternative is to immediately alert sea transportation using ferries, namely the Sabu Island Ferry Motor Ship (KMP) to serve passengers heading for Kefa and Atambua and Malacca. KMP Pulau Sabu has been serving the Kupang-Wini-Teluk Gurita route," said Head of the NTT Transportation Service Isyak Nuka.
