Waskita Tunda Pay Debt, This Is An Explanation From The Special Staff Of The Minister Of SOEs

JAKARTA - Shares of PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) have been temporarily suspended from trading or suspended by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The reason is because of the delay in the payment of the 15th interest of the Shelf-Registered Bonds III Waskita Karya Phase IV Year 2019 Series B.

Responding to this, the Special Staff of the Minister of SOEs Arya Sinulingga explained that bank loans were part of the restructuring in the context of restoring the company's performance. However, this restructuring has not been carried out on bonds.

So, continued Arya, it is necessary to treat all lenders the same way.

"There are bonds that have not done that, have not been restructured. So we are asked for equal treatment, equalization of all of our actions," he told reporters, written on Sunday, February 19.

Arya said, the naming of this action made Waskita not pay her debt. Even so, Arya said that the company is currently waiting for the results from the ongoing General Meeting of Bondholders (RUPO).

"But now it's the RUPO, we'll see the results," he said.

Previously, Waskita Karya's management explained that the delay in payment was due to equal treatment for all debt holders, both work credit and bonds.

Currently, Waskita is also carrying out the restructuring as stated in the Master Restructuring Agreement (MRA) as one of the Company's strategies to conduct a comprehensive review of the implementation of the MRA in order to optimize the ongoing financial restructuring program.
