Coordinating Minister Airlangga Claims Of Pre-Employment Cards Successfully And Inclusively

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the government's implementation of the Pre-Employment Card has achieved success for three years. According to him, this program has brought benefits to tens of millions of people throughout Indonesia.

"Alhamdulillah, for three years the Pre-Employment Card program has been successfully implemented massively and inclusively in 514 districts and cities from 38 provinces. There are 16.4 million people who have received the benefits of this program," he said during a press conference on Friday, February 17.

Airlangga added that the indicator of success was also supported by the recognition of a global institution stating that the government had presented an important program for the workforce in the country.

"Various surveys and researches from national and international institutions confirm the positive impact of this program," he said.

For information, during the pandemic the Pre-Employment Card was used as a semi-social assistance (bansos) instrument in order to reduce the impact of COVID-19. Meanwhile, starting this year the scheme will undergo adjustments.

"The government continues the 2023 Pre-Employment Card program according to Presidential Decree Number 113 of 2022 and the Working Committee meeting by deciding that the Pre-Employment Card is carried out under a normal scheme so that it is no longer a semi-social assistance," he stressed.

Airlangga said the new method applied would focus on efforts to increase the ability of prospective workers.

"So the portion of costs will be higher than the incentives received by participants," he said.

The editor noted that the target for Pre-Employment Card participants for the 2023 period was 595,000 people and starting today, Friday, February 17 for wave 48.
