Apple's Mixed Reality Headset Reportedly Will Be Present At WWDC June 2023
Apple's mixed reality headset is rumored to be debuting at the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), which takes place in June.
First reported by Bloomberg, a source said that the device, which may be called the Reality Pro, was unofficially scheduled to launch in April, but the company needed additional development time for its hardware and software issues.
Although there have been many rumors about its launch, the tech giant declined to comment. However, the hardware may be delivered later this year.
The MR headset from the iPhone maker is rumored to be launching at this year's spring event and will be sold for around $3.000.
When compared, the price is more than double the virtual reality headset and Meta Platforms Inc production mix, Quest Pro, which launched late last year for $1,500.
However, Apple's MR headset may also include capabilities that are not found even in alternatives like the Meta Quest Pro. Rumors say that it could include multiple 4K views and various cameras that allow continued tracking and controller-free input.
You'll have to use the battery in an external package, but you'll also get an M2 processor that outperforms the mobile chip on other self-standing AR and VR devices.
Launching Engadget, the underlying platform, xrOS, is said to include an iOS-style interface that relies on finger pinching and voice commands for interaction.
There will be emphasis on health and improved versions of familiar experiences, such as body-wide avatars during FaceTime calls. You may even have an easy way to create apps using Siri.
