Target Entering 5 Best Airports In Asia, Deputy Minister Of BUMN: We Improve Soetta Quality And Capacity And Ngurah Rai Bali
JAKARTA - The government targets Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) and Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, to be included in the list of the top five airports in Asia.
Deputy Minister of BUMN II, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that his party wanted Soetta and Ngurah Rai to be able to visit international airports in Asia. Such as Changi in Singapore and Incheon in South Korea.
"We have to increase our capacity and quality. We want Soetta and Ngurah Rai to be no less than Changi Airport, Incheon in South Korea and so on," he told reporters, Wednesday, February 15.
Tiko, Kartika's nickname, said that to realize the target, the Ministry of SOEs will look for new investors to manage Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) and Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali.
The plan is that the management of these two airports will be in collaboration with Angkasa Pura I (Persero) and Angkasa Pura II (Persero) as state-owned airport operators.
However, Tiko emphasized that the plan is still in the discussion stage between the Ministry of SOEs and PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney. Therefore, he said, there has been no decision on which foreign investors will be targeted.
"We plan to cooperate (with outside investors). But indeed there has been no decision by foreign investors, we have not announced it first," he said.
Tiko said that currently the Ministry of SOEs and InJourney are still looking for a scheme or cooperation model.
Later, said Tiko, investors who join must be able to increase the capacity and quality of the two airports.
