RI And Timor Leste Agreed On Completion Of 2 Land Border Segments

JAKARTA - Indonesia and Timor Leste have agreed to complete the two remaining land border segments of the two countries this year, namely the Noel Besi Segment, Citrana Segment, and the Bidjael Sunan Oben Segment.

President Jokowi stated this while giving a joint press statement with Timor Leste Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Monday, 13 February.

"For the management of the border area, Indonesia and Timor Leste have agreed to immediately complete the two remaining land border segments this year, namely the Noel Besi, Citrana, and Bidjael Sunan Oben segments," Jokowi said as reported by ANTARA, Monday, February 13.

Jokowi said the completion of the land boundary negotiations was important to be able to start maritime negotiations, as well as to encourage the construction of a National Cross-Border Post (PLBN) in Oepoli, East Nusa Tenggara.

Along with this, Jokowi on that occasion also welcomed the increase in land connectivity, among others, through the inaugural launch of the Kupang-Dili route with bus routes.

Jokowi specifically also pushed for sea transportation logistics costs for business activities to be reduced.
