BRI Salurkan KUR Rp252 Trillion Throughout 2022, Rerata Rp1 Trillion Per Day
JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk closed 2022 by distributing People's Business Credit (KUR) of IDR 252.38 trillion to 6.5 million debtors.
Director of Micro Business BRI Supari explained that the distribution of KUR throughout 2022 is in accordance with the breakdown or allocation set by the government.
"In 2023, BRI will continue to be committed to channeling KUR as an effort to encourage the wheels of the grass root economy and to support the provision of job opportunities for the community," he said in a press conference quoted on Saturday, February 11.
Meanwhile, BRI has received an allocation for KUR distribution in 2023 from the Government of IDR 270 trillion and BRI is optimistic that it can achieve this target. He continued, this could not be separated from BRI's ability to process and disburse KUR with an average of IDR 1 trillion per day.
Regarding KUR, Supari clearly explained that KUR is a People's Business Credit, so KUR is a Credit, not assistance or grant.
Just so you know, the source of KUR funds is 100 percent of bank funds. The 16 percent micro KUR interest rate, from the 16 percent interest expense, the government provides a subsidy of 10 percent to the people so that the interest expense paid by the people is only 6 percent. So, he continued, those who are assisted by subsidies are the people, not banks.
"The government's concern is how SME players get bigger and get a margin from their economic activities. So that they can advance to class more quickly and one day, the graduation to commercial is not continuously in KUR for life," concluded Supari.
