The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Can Waste DIFFICULT Corruption Cases At The AGO

JAKARTA - The KPK signed a cooperation agreement with the Attorney General's Office (AGO). They agreed to help each other in efforts to deal with alleged corruption.

KPK chairman Firli Bahuri said this agreement was important because his institution and the Attorney General's Office had the same role, eradicating racist practices. These two institutions must be able to help the welfare of the people.

"We are here together to realize the goals of the nation based on the 1945 Constitution. This will not be realized if there is still corruption," Firli said in a written statement, Wednesday, February 8.

The agreement outlined in the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) was signed by the Deputy for Coordination and Supervision of the KPK Didik Agung Widjanarko and the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah.

There are several things that are regulated, including the mechanism for submitting investigations, investigations, and prosecutions from the KPK to the AGO as well as the results of investigations that are experiencing obstacles.

Then, the PKS also regulates the coordination and supervision mechanism between the two institutions, including related to SPDP and developments in case handling and public reports regarding the handling of alleged corruption.

Finally, the KPK and the AGO can help each other deal with allegations of corruption that are handled by each other. The assistance can consist of the search for people who are included in the People's Wanted List (DPO), asset tracking, case reconstruction, digital forensics, to the provision of places for detention and data supply of State Administrators Wealth Reports (LHKPN).

Furthermore, this PKS was prepared with a number of stages. Initially, the KPK and the AGO conducted a group discussion (FGD) forum twice to determine the legal basis and also harmonization.

This activity was carried out by two parties through the Coordination and Supervision Task Force formed by the KPK together with the Special Task Force for Monitoring, Evaluation and Supervision formed by the Attorney General's Office.

Regarding this collaboration, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin hopes that the synergy between the Adhyaksa Corps and the KPK can be closer in eradicating corruption. In addition, the handling of cases by utilizing technology and digitization can be realized.

"It is hoped that this agreement will confirm the socialization of data on the integration of case handling through the Special Criminal Case Management System (CMS) with SPDP (District of Notification of Investigation) Online at the Corruption Eradication Commission," said Burhanuddin.
