A Century Of Nahdlatul Ulama, Ganjar Pranowo: NU Has Already Contributed To The Nation
SIDOARJO - Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo was amazed by the excitement of the peak reception for the Sebad Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) which was held at Gor Delta Sidoarjo, East Java, Tuesday, February 7. Ganjar, who was present at the event, said that NU had succeeded in treading a century of travel and made a tremendous contribution to the nation.
"So it has entered a century to enter the second century. Of course the challenges are extraordinary, because NU has experience in contributing to the development of the nation, social, political, economic, let alone religious," he said.
Ganjar said, to face these various challenges, according to him, NU must enter the current era. He said NU has many educational networks such as madrasas and Islamic boarding schools. This, continued Ganjar, must be encouraged to pick up a much more modern future.
"And God willing, NU can because he is used to it," explained Ganjar Pranowo.
Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo in his remarks said that the second century Nahdlatul Ulama was a sign of the organization's new revival while strengthening Islam and Indonesia.
"Hopefully the momentum of the second century of NU will be a sign of NU's new revival, strengthen Islam and Indonesianness, improve people's welfare and build a future for an advanced and dignified Indonesia," said Jokowi.
Jokowi said that the presence of NU brought Islam and diversity, Islam and nationality, unity and integrity, and harmony in diversity.
"Entering the second century, God willing, NU will grow stronger, become an example in moderate Islam, provide examples of living a good Islamic adab, upholding kharimah and ethnicity, karma, upload of ungkah, good ethics and good etiquette, and maintaining tolerance, maintaining unity, maintaining mutual cooperation, and continuing to keep up with the times," he explained.
The presence of Ganjar Pranowo at the location of the commemoration of the Sebad Nahdlatul Ulama received a lively welcome from the audience.
