Vice President Asks NU To Be Transformable According To Age Development
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized that Nahdlatul Ulama must transform and adapt according to the times so that it can contribute to the nation and state.
"Entering a new age, NU must be able to transform and adapt to changing times that carry various challenges," said the Vice President in an online congratulations on the NU Century Commemoration organized by the Banten Province Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Management (PWNU) as received by a press release, Tuesday, February 7.
The Vice President said that the transformation and adaptation according to the times had been carried out since the founding of NU. This can be seen from the contributions that have been given by NU figures and kiai for a long time.
"Starting from efforts to defend the Republic of Indonesia through the expulsion of the invaders, until now NU has taken part, in filling development by becoming a reliable partner for the government," said the Vice President.
Thus, he added, this contribution must continue by all NU residents at this time in accordance with the challenges of the times they face.
According to him, these challenges include three aspects of life, namely the aspects of individuals, nation and state, and the world as a whole.
"Let's continue the efforts of theishlahul ummah (improving the people), theishlahul wathan (improving the nation and state), the walishlahul nature (improving the world), as the main mission of NU, namely amaliyatulishlah, because NU is Jamilatulishlah (organizations that make improvements)," the Vice President appealed.
Closing his congratulations, the Vice President also hopes that all NU citizens can continue to actively contribute in making Indonesia a country that collects goodness from nature and the good behavior of its residents.
"With gratitude, I congratulate you on commemorating the 1st Century of Nahdlatul Ulama. I pray for all NU leaders and all NU residents to stay healthy, enthusiastic, trustworthy, and istiqomah, together to advance and make Indonesia baldatun tayyibatun warabbun ghafur," concluded the Vice President.
