Attorney For Retired AKBP Eko Respects Polda Metro Jaya's Decree To Withdraw The Status Of Suspect Hasya Athallah
JAKARTA - The attorney for AKBP (Ret.) Eko Setio, Kitson Sianturi spoke about the decision by the Polda Metro Jaya to revoke the status of suspect Hasya Athallah, a student at the University of Indonesia (UI) who was hit by a retired police officer on Jalan Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.
Kitson admitted that he had no problem with the decision of the Metro Jaya Police Fact Finding Team (TPF) regarding the revocation. Because for him it is the policy of the investigation team.
"We as attorneys, whether it's clients, there's no problem. That's the authority of the police. Even if we are, if it's good. It's okay, there's no problem," said Kitson when confirmed, Monday, February 6.
As is known, Polda Metro Jaya today, Monday 6 February revoked the status of the late Hasya Atallah Syaputra as a suspect in the accident that caused the UI student to die at the scene.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said the determination was based on the results of an evaluation of the procedural discrepancy as regulated by the Chief of Police Regulation Number 6 regarding the investigation of criminal acts related to the determination of status and other stages.
"First, revoke the letter of determination of the status of the deceased by the process of notification letter regarding the revocation of suspect status. Based on Kabareskrim regulation number 1 of 2022 concerning standard operating procedures," Trunoyudo told BSD ICE reporters, South Tangerang, Monday, February 6.
On that basis, Trunoyudo apologized for the determination of the suspect by his side.
"For that we Polda Metro Jaya apologize for some of the irregularities we took," he concluded.
