Thailand Masters 2023: Different Prosperity Of Indonesian Men's Doubles

JAKARTA Indonesian men's doubles Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin beat Rasmus Kj▁TAHUN/Frederik Sogaard to reach the last 16 of Thailand Masters 2023.

Last week's Indonesia Masters champions won tight three games 21-11, 18-21, and 21-19 with a duration of 58 minutes while playing at Field 4 Nimibutr National Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand, Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

In the next round, Leo/Daniel will face Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan. The couple from Chinese Taipei qualified for the round of 16 after repatriating representatives of India, PS Ravikrishna/Sankar Prasad Udayakumar.

So far Leo/Daniel have had a bad record of winning-loss 0-2 against Lee/Yang. The two defeats suffered by Leo/Daniel when they met at the Sunrise Vietnam International Challenge 2019 and the Denmark Open 2021.

Leo / Daniel who is the 2019 junior world champion is Indonesia's fourth men's doubles pair which reached the round of 16.

Apart from Leo/Daniel, tickets to the round of 16 were also secured by the women's ideals, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi. The pair qualified after beating representatives of Thaialnd Tidapron Kleebyeesun/Patchamon Laisuan in two straight games, 21-14 and 21-10.

Meanwhile, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani could not follow the two steps of their colleagues. The couple failed to convert three match points in the first game before surrendering 16-21 in the second game.

So far, Indonesia has secured seven tickets to the second half. Previously, on the first day yesterday, three tickets had been secured by Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, and Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah/Rahmat Hidayat.

The other two tickets were secured by the women's doubles number Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto and Meilysa Trias Puspita Sari/Rachel Allessya Rose.
