Police Check 3 People Regarding The Report Of Hate Speech Commemoration Of The Prophet's Birthday In Pamekasan
The Pamekasan Police, East Java examined three people regarding reports of cases of alleged hate speech reported by the management of religious organizations to the institution.
"The three people we have questioned as witnesses," said Pamekasan Police Chief AKBP Satria Permana in Pamekasan, East Java, Tuesday, January 31, quoted from ANTARA.
The reported party is a cleric named Yuzir Hasan Al Idis, while the reporter is the Branch Manager of the Pamekasan Ansor Youth Movement.
The alleged case of the keyword began with a sermon delivered by the ustaz when he was a preacher at the Ustman Bin Affan Mosque, Nyalabu Permai Housing, Nyalajuh Laok Village, Pamekasan District.
The khutbah video footage was then uploaded to social media YouTube, which stated that the commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW as usually done by some Muslims in Pamekasan was bid'ah and the founder of the Islamic mass organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH Hasyim Asyari according to the ustaz did not allow such activities.
The one-minute duration that was uploaded on January 23, 2023, sparked reactions from NU residents.
On January 25, 2023, the NU mass of thousands of people from a number of villages rallied. Among them are from Nyalabu Laok Village, Nyalabu Daya, Deptent, Klampar, Samiran and Samadan Village, protesting against the cleric's sermon which was considered provocative.
Next on January 27, 2023, the Pamekasan Ansor Youth Movement Management reported Ustad Yasir to the Pamekasan Police Headquarters on suspicion of spreading hatred with report numbers: LP/B/36/1/2023/SPKT/Polres Pamekasan/East Java Police.
Three days later, on January 30, 2023, a group of people on behalf of Aswaja rallied to the Pamekasan Police Headquarters urging that the reported cases of alleged hate spread be immediately arrested.
When meeting the protesters, the Police Chief, AKBP Satria Permana, explained that the parties who had been questioned included the reported party and linguist.
"We have also examined the reported Ustad Yuzir. We ensure that law enforcement is carried out according to procedures. So, please oversee this law enforcement process," said the police chief.
Previously, at a meeting facilitated by the Indonesian Regency and Ulema Council (MUI) along with representatives of a number of Islan mass organizations in Mandhepa Agung Ronggosukowati Pamekasan, the preacher Ustaz Yasir had apologized for the sermon delivered by him and had triggered the reaction of some Pamekasan Muslims.
