MANADO - The Provincial Government of North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) continues to strive to achieve the title as a child-friendly region. "Last year, out of 15 child-friendly provinces and city governments, there were nine local governments and city-worthy titles," said Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi), Steven Kandouw, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, January 29. Last year, from 15 regencies and cities, there were nine local governments and city governments that won child-friendly titles, six local governments of which continued to make optimal efforts to realize the title. According to him, the vision and mission of district and city governments in North Sulawesi among others is how to improve the welfare and prosperity of the people whose spectrum is the family in it including children. "In MDG's and SDG's, it also touches on the protection and feasibility of children's lives. Therefore, there is no other way but to continue to strive to pay attention to the needs of children's lives," he said. The chairman of the North Sulawesi DPRD for the 2014 period said, realizing a decent child's life is an idealistic as well as pragmatic goal. "Therefore, we are grateful that there are districts and cities that get recognition as districts and cities are child-friendly," he said. The Deputy Governor added, one of the leading pillars of development in this area is the tourism sector. "Now, international tourism, for example demands a conducive environment. In addition to security, there is plus security, namely a health world like a hospital. There is also a friendly environment for children including those who hold disabilities," he said.
