South Aceh FKL Team Attacked By Tigers, Four Naturals Luka
JAKARTA - A forest patrol team of the Leuser Conservation Forum (FKL) consisting of four people was attacked by tigers in the Sampali Forest area, Central Kluet District, South Aceh Regency.
South Aceh Police Chief AKBP Nova Suryandaru through Central Kluet Police Chief Ipda Mawarzi Lubis in South Aceh, said the four victims were residents of Koto Village, Central Kluet District, South Aceh Regency.
"The four of them suffered injuries, a serious injury, three minor injuries. The incident was discovered after a victim managed to save from and report to the Central Kluet Police Headquarters on Saturday (January 28) at around 14.30 WIB," Mawarzi said quoting from Antara, Sunday, January 29.
The patrol teams reportedly attacked by the tiger were Hari Kafri as the head of the squad, and each as a member namely Asyari, Hardiman, and Rusdianto.
After receiving the report, said Mawarzi, the police team together with members of the TNI and a number of residents left for the Sampali Forest to look for three other victims.
"The three victims were found and rescued at around 21.00 WIB. The three of them suffered injuries, a serious injury. During the rescue, the tiger was still in the Sampali Forest area," Mawarzi said again.
The victim was seriously injured on behalf of Rusdianto and evacuated by the Yuliddin Away Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Tapaktuan, the capital of South Aceh Regency. While the other three were handled at the Central Kluet Health Center.
"We urge and remind the public to be aware of the presence of tigers in these forest areas. If you travel to the forest, don't be alone," said Mawarzi.
