Twitter Gives Supported Accounts To Play Banding, Starting February 1

JAKARTA Twitter on Friday, January 27 announced that Twitter users will be able to appeal the suspension of accounts and evaluate based on the new criteria of social media platforms for recovery, starting February 1.

Under the new criteria, following the company's purchase by billionaire Elon Musk in October, Twitter accounts will only be suspended for gross or ongoing and repeated violations of platform policies.

Heavy policy violations include being involved in content or illegal activities, inciting or threatening violence or harm, and being involved in harassment targeted at other users.

Twitter says that going forward, it will take milder action, compared to account suspensions, such as limiting the reach of tweets that violate its policies or asking users to delete tweets before continuing to use accounts.

In December 2022, Musk was criticized for suspending accounts of several journalists over the controversy over the publication of public data about the billionaire's plane. He then reactivated the account.
