Viral Sexual Harassment In Ratu TN Crater?
BOGOR - It is suspected that there was an act of sexual harassment against visitors to the Mount Halimun Salak National Park (TN Milik) Crater tourist location, Bogor Regency, West Java (West Java).
Deputy for the Protection of Women's Rights at the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA), Ratna Susianawati encourages TN managers to process the law of the alleged perpetrator.
"For tourism location managers, they can give punishment to the perpetrators," he said in his statement, Friday, January 27, as reported by Antara.
According to him, tourist sites should be a safe and comfortable public space for women to move.
"We are also concerned about the sexual harassment experienced by tourist site visitors. Tourist visits should be safe and comfortable for all visitors, but instead they are tainted by the actions of irresponsible persons who actually have the authority to the security of the TN location," said Ratna.
Ratna expressed her appreciation to the victims who had dared to report sexual violence to the public.
With the disclosure of this case, KemenPPPA hopes that all parties, starting from the central government, local governments, and the business world, can pay more attention to the safety and comfort of women in public places, in particular creating tourist sites that are free from the threat of sexual violence.
"Upaya sinergi dan kolaborasi dalam memberikan pengawasan atas pengembangan wisata harus diwujudkan bukan hanya dari sisi prasarana saja, tetapi juga harus mempertimbangkan kesiapan SDM yang bekerja untuk memberikan perlindungan bagi para pengunjung," tuturnya.
Previously, a woman through her social media account revealed the sexual harassment incident she experienced. The incident that occurred at the Ratu TN Kawah tourist location was then viral.
