Bali Sits Second Place In Popular Tourism Destinations In The World, Ministry Of Tourism And Creative Economy: Quality And Quantity Of Becoming An Assessment Indicator

JAKARTA - Bali has again won world-class awards from the TripAdvisor travel site by named the Island of the Gods the second most popular destination in the world, ahead of London in third place and Paris in fifth place, this year.

Responding to this, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno also expressed his appreciation for making Bali the top of the mind of tourists to travel.

"Bali rose by two places, from fourth place in 2022 to second place in 2023, beating London in third place and Paris in fifth place," Sandiaga said in Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 24.

Sandiaga said, there are two assessment indicators that make Bali the second most popular destination in the world in the 2023 version of TripAdvisor.

"The Travelers' Choice Award for Destinations assessment indicator is based on the quality and quantity of reviews during the period November 2021-October 2022," he said.

Therefore, said Sandiaga, Bali can be a feeder for five other super priority destinations, so that they can get the same award in the future.

"Hopefully in the next five years, there will be one of our super priority destinations that will penetrate the top 10 and I hope Bali can also be ranked first in the years to come," he said.

"This is an achievement that we should be grateful for together," he concluded.

Previously, Bali was known to be ranked fourth in 2022. However, now Bali's charm is able to rank second in the 10 most popular tourist destinations in 2023 according to TripAdvisor.
