Arrested In Banda Aceh, Izil Azhar, A Fugitive From The KPK, Was Immediately Taken To The KPK
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will soon bring its fugitive, former Commander of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) Izil Azhar to Jakarta. He will undergo an examination at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta."The DPO will soon be brought to Jakarta for further processing," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, January 24.Izil was arrested by the joint team of the KPK and the Aceh Police today, Tuesday, January 24. The arrests were made in Banda Aceh.Ali said this team had coordinated since December 2022. "KPK appreciates the Aceh Regional Police who have assisted the KPK in the search and arrest," he said.At first glance about Izil Azhar, he was named a suspect along with former Aceh Governor Irwandi Yusuf in 2018. He is suspected of receiving gratuities of Rp32.45 billion related to the Sabang dock construction project.Apart from Izil, there are still four KPK fugitives who still have to be pursued. They include former 2019 legislative candidate Harun Masiku who bribed former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.
