SAMARINDA - The Samarinda Police have arrested a number of teenagers suspected of being thugs under the guise of buskers who are often in the Mahakam River Bank area."We continue to patrol Bhabinkamtibmas and FKPM in the Mahakam River Bank area, and have succeeded in securing buskers who allegedly asked visitors to force them," said Sungai Kunjang Police Chief, Kompol Made Anwara in Samarinda, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 24.The Sungai Kunjang Police have arrested four buskers suspected of being thugs who asked visitors by force or blackmailing and disturbing residents in the Mahakam River tourist area.Previously, his party had received reports from extortion victims carried out by a group of buskers in the Mahakam Bank area.However, the four buskers who were detained at the Sungai Kunjang Police Station, there were no indications of extortion.The victim admitted that the four buskers who were detained by the police were not the perpetrators in question, looking at the identity of the photo shown on the victim's cellphone.he continued, because the four buskers were not the perpetrators referred to as victims, they were released after being secured for 1X24 hours.They receive guidance so that the extortion case in question is not carried out while busking, and does not interfere with public order.Made Anwara also explained that currently the police are still monitoring buskers operating in the Mahakam River Bank. The police also did not hesitate to arrest the perpetrator whose identity had been reported by the extortion victim."For controlling street children, buskers, beggars, and others in Samarinda that are troubling the residents, they are handed over to the competent authorities. But if it is related to thuggery, we will go down to secure it," said the police chief.
