Mount Dieng Status Alert, Ganjar Pranowo Coordination With BPBD
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has coordinated with the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) to respond to the status of Mount Dieng which rose from level I to level II (alert). In addition, he also asked to continue to monitor developments in the situation and conditions through the existing early warning system.
"Yes, everything continues, some time we are ready for several places including Dieng to be carried out continuously, we coordinate with BPBD, so we ask for all warning system equipment to be monitored continuously so that if something happens, we can immediately convey it to the public," said Ganjar after attending the closing of the Nahdlatul Ulama Nasional Sports and Art Week (Porseni) in 2023 in Surakarta, Saturday, January 21.
The white-haired governor appealed to the entire community to be alert and continue to pay attention to the situation and conditions that occurred. "I think the people around Dieng are very familiar with the situation and conditions there. So there are signs of nature, warnings from existing tools and instruments to pay attention to," he continued.
Not only that, vigilance also needs to involve active village heads and tourism managers in Dieng. "We ask the village head and manager to provide continuous warnings," added Ganjar Pranowo.
Previously reported, PVMBG raised the status of Mount Dieng from level I (normal) to level II (alert), since Friday (13/1/2023) at 23.00 WIB.
And if it is necessary, said Ganjar Pranowo, a dangerous tourist attraction for visitors to be able to temporarily close. "If the situation is not good, it is closed. So the manager must be alert for that," he said.
