JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Marcus Melchias Mekeng, said his party was open to the possibility of Ridwan Kamil (RK) running in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada). However, it looks at the dynamics that are developing. According to him, RK can be placed anywhere, both in the West Java gubernatorial election (Pilgub) and the DKI gubernatorial election. "Yes, West Java can do it, DKI can," Mekeng said when confirmed, Thursday, January 19. However, Mekeng could not confirm which area RK will be nominated. He emphasized that the decision regarding this could be known before the registration of the 2024 cagub.

"We see 2024," he said. According to Mekeng, the governor candidate from the Golkar Party for the DKI Pilkada has not yet been decided. Although previously the names of the DKI Golkar DPD Chairman Ahmad Zaki Iskandar and former South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany were championed to run for the DKI Pilkada.
