Ferdy Sambo Is Being Demanded By The Prison Of Life, AGO: If There Is Something That Loosens The Decree Of His Sentence

JAKARTA - Defendant Ferdy Sambo was charged with life imprisonment without any consideration of mitigating. The Attorney General's Office (AGO) stated that the charges against Sambo in the alleged murder case of Yosua alias Brigadier J were the maximum sanctions.

"Why isn't there anything to relieve? This, in our SOP, when we demand the maximum, the light one certainly doesn't exist," said Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes (Jampidum) at the AGO Fadil Zumhana to reporters, Thursday, January 19.

According to him, if given mitigating considerations on guidance, it will later affect the decision of the panel of judges handling the case.

So, for that reason the prosecutor's team decided not to include mitigating considerations.

Although, there are several parties who think that Ferdy Sambo can receive mitigating considerations, namely that for decades he has served the country as a member of the National Police.

"Because there is still something higher, (that is) for life and death. That is the consideration, there is no relief. There really is none, because if there is a relief, the sentence will definitely be reduced again," said Fadil.

Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to life imprisonment in the alleged premeditated murder case of Yosua alias Brigadier J. Prosecutors also assessed that his actions had been legally and convincingly proven to have violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code.

"The defendant Ferdy Sambo has been sentenced to life imprisonment," said the prosecutor during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, January 17.

There are several considerations behind the demands for life imprisonment. For example, the aggravating thing is that it has made many members of the National Police involved.

On the other hand, the prosecutor thinks there is not a single mitigating factor for Ferdy Sambo. "There is nothing mitigating," said the prosecutor.
