DLH Bandung: 300 Unexplained Tonnes Of Garbage Every Day Due To TPA PROBLEMs
BANDUNG - The Environment Agency (DLH) of Bandung City, West Java, said it could only carry 900-1,000 tons of waste. With this carrying capacity, it means that the remaining 300 tons are not transported every day.The head of the Bandung City DLH, Dudi Prayudi, said that every day the city of Bandung produces up to 1,200 tons of waste. As for the problems at the Sarimukti TPA, West Bandung Regency, according to him, it has been going on since the second week of January 2023."The problem is because the long queue on the road to and within the TPA has resulted in delays in our trucks transporting again," said Dudi in Bandung, Antara, Tuesday, January 17.He said the 1,200 tons of waste per day was obtained from 135 Temporary Disposal Sites (TPS) in Bandung City. However, because of this problem, his party prioritizes the transportation of waste at Polling Stations that have accumulated.According to him, the problems that occurred at the Sarimukti TPA were heavy equipment damage. Then according to him, road access to a slippery location has slowed the mobility of garbage trucks."This resulted in long queues and delays," he said.Due to this problem, he asked the public to temporarily refrain from throwing garbage into the TPS. In addition, according to him, the public is also asked to minimize waste from the household level."God willing, if the heavy equipment works again, it can return to normal as soon as possible, it only takes time," he said.
