Alert! 18 Hotspots Detectioned In East Kalimantan
BALIKPAPAN - The Balikpapan Station Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) detected 18 hotspots in East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim), so related parties are expected to carry out handling to extinguish them.
"A total of 18 hotspots were monitored throughout Sunday, January 15 starting at 01.00 to 24.00 WITA," said Balikpapan City Meteorological Station Data and Information Coordinator Diyan Novrida, Antara, Monday 16 January
The distribution of 18 hotspots has been conveyed to related agencies, especially to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), both at the East Kalimantan Province and their respective districts in order to receive further treatment.
He appealed to all elements of society to help protect the environment so that land and forest fires do not occur, such as not throwing cigarette butts carelessly, not burning during land management, and avoiding activities that can trigger fires.
Three days earlier Saturday, January 14, BMKG Balikpapan Station also detected eight hotspots spread over three districts, but the hotspots were extinguished after handling the related parties.
Meanwhile, the 18 hotspots observed today are at different coordinates than before, although some are still in the same district and sub-district.
A total of 18 hot spots observed today are spread across four districts, namely East Kutai Regency there is one point, Kutai Kartanegara Regency five points, Berau Regency 11 points, and Mahakam Ulu Regency one point.

The details are that East Kutai is in Bengalon District, Mahakam Ulu is in Long Hubung District. Both have a middle level of trust.
In Kutai Kartanegara Regency there are five hotspots, spread over two sub-districts, namely Kembang Janggut District there are four points and Samboja District has one point, all of which have a middle level of trust.
Berau Regency, which was detected at 11 hotspots, spread over six sub-districts, namely Tabalar and Gunung Tabur sub-districts, each with one hot spot, both of which have a medium level of trust.
"In Segah District there are two points, Derawan Island District has three points, Sambaliung District has two points, and Teluk Bayur District has two hotspots. All of them have medium confidence level," said Diyan.
