Will Operate In July 2023, The Jabodebek LRT Implements Technology Without A Driver

JAKARTA - The Jabodebek LRT is planned to operate in mid-2023. Later, the mode of transportation will be operated using advanced technology, namely the Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) system with a Grade of Automation (GoA) level 3.

The CBTC system is a communication-based train operating system, so the system can operate trains and project schedules automatically from the operating control center, as well as without a driver.

"Even without a driver, the Jabodebek LRT journey still has officers called Train Attendant to provide services to customers and is needed for handling in emergency conditions," said Jabodebek LRT Public Relations Manager Kuswardojo in his official statement, quoted on Friday, January 13.

In serving the community, the Jabodebek LRT will operate 31 trainsets or series. The Jabodebek LRT trainset or series consists of six trains. The Jabodebek LRT is known to be able to carry 1,308 passengers.

"The Jabodebek LRT will serve the community from 05.00 WIB to 23.27 WIB. Later, the Jabodebek LRT will average 434 train trips (KA) every day with an initial target of 137,000 users per day," said Kuswardojo.

The Jabodebek LRT will serve the community by presenting 18 stations, including Dukuh Atas Station, Setiabudi, Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Pancoran, Cikoko, Ciliwung, Cawang, TMII, Kampung Rambutan, Ciracas, Harjamukti, Halim, Jatibening Baru, Cikunir I, Cikunir II, West Bekasi, and Jati Mulya.

These stations are integrated with other modes of transportation, making it easier for people to mobilize.

In addition, Jabodebek LRT stations are scattered in strategic locations, ranging from residential areas, shopping, to business areas, making it easier for people to use the Jabodebek LRT.

Later, the Jabodebek LRT will implement a cashless system using the existing Transportation Electronic Money Card (KUE), such as the Multi Trip Card (KMT), Electronic Money Card or digital wallet.

"KAI has also prepared station supervisors, counter officers, passanger service, cleaning service, health workers and security to optimize customer services at all Jabodebek LRT stations," concluded Kuswardojo.

The Jabodebek LRT is planned to start serving the community in mid-July.
