The Madura Customs and Excise held a coordination meeting with the Office of the Sumenep Regency SME, Industry and Trade Cooperative Office regarding the acceleration of the completion of the Tobacco Products Industrial Estate (KIHT).
Head of the Madura Customs Office Muhammad Syahirul Alim said the meeting was also intended to coordinate the 2022 Tobacco Products Excise Sharing Fund (DBHCHT).
KIHT Sumenep is the object that will be visited by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani in early 2023. We view that further discussions are needed regarding the preparations that must be met," he said in a press statement quoted on Thursday, January 12.
Syahirul explained that development is currently focusing on managing the permit for the KIHT management so that it can be said that it is feasible as an area that will run in the tobacco products industry.
"This KIHT is expected to have a positive impact and benefit the wider community, especially the perpetrators of cigarette SMEs. Customs and Excise will continue to support the Sumenep Regency Government in the development of this KIHT," he said.
For information, customs and excise revenues have contributed quite a bit to state revenues over the past year. VOI noted that the realization of customs and excise in the 2022 State Budget reached IDR 317.8 trillion or 106 percent of the target set at IDR 299 trillion.
