There Are 9 KKB Disruption Focus Points, Papua Police Prepare For Special Handling

Papuan Police detailed that there are nine points that become disturbances of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in its jurisdiction. Therefore, Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri said that his party had prepared steps to deal with the attack on armed groups.

The nine points are Mount Bintang, Yahukimo, Nduga, Puncak, Dogiyai, Paniai, Intan Jaya, and Jayapura Regencies.

"Polda apau has taken steps on how to handle it seriously. Of course we will take firm and measured legal steps," said Fakhiri through Via Zoom's press conference, Wednesday, January 11.

On the occasion, Fakhiri gave examples such as in the Bintang Mountains, Jayapura. Fakhiri said, in that place, the Cartenz Peace Task Force and the Papuan Police Mobile Brigade had been added to provide security.

"In the Bintang Mountains, we have strengthened the task force from the peace of Cartenz. I (also) ordered as directed by the leadership to take measured decisive steps," he said.

Moreover, he also asked his staff to prepare themselves in arresting the armed group.

"We will evaluate and prepare (in) to pursue the perpetrators of the KKB," he said.

For information, the KKB has again caused chaos in Papua. This time, Oksibil District, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua.

"The school that was burned was SMKN 1 Oksibil and shot the plane that was about to land so that it immediately returned to Tanah Merah," said Danrem 172/PWY Brigadier General JO Sembiring as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 9.

Head of the Oksibil Airport Management Unit (UPBU) Agus Hadi separately said the shooting was reported when the plane with flight number PK-HVV was at the holding point before landing at Oksibil Airport and reported being hit by gunfire on the fuselage.

As a result, the plane immediately returned to Tanah Merah, Boven Digul Regency.
