Waiting For The Realization Of Blockbutter Fighters Idaman World Boxing Lover, Tyson Fury Vs Oleksandr Usyk
JAKARTA - The fight that is coveted by world boxing lovers, especially heavyweights, is getting closer to reality. Tyson Fury is almost certain to meet Oleksandr Usyk.
The two world champions are in negotiations to secure an agreement. They are discussing plans to step into the ring by risking all their belts.
Boxing fans may not have to wait too long to see the blockbuster fight. Reportedly, March 4 has been agreed.
Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, has even confirmed the draft contract has been sent to the Ukrainian star.
Queensberry boss told talkSPORT, "We've sent them contract drafts, that's where we are."
"Listen, this has to be done very, very quickly now because the time is against us."
"I want to start a fight in March and so does Tyson. We just want to do it in March and that will make them ready for another big fight in the fall," he continued.
Fury defended his WBC title by beating Derek Chisora last month. Meanwhile, Usyk won the WBA, IBF, and WBO belts by beating Anthony Joshua in 2021.
The fight between Fury and Usyk now has less than eight weeks to actually materialize, with the venue yet to be decided.
Saudi Arabia could be a possible destination. Even though Fury fans want it to be staged in the UK.
Asked where the fight would take place, Warren replied, "Wherever the most money comes from."
"We know what it can do in the UK, but if it goes elsewhere, it depends on the amount."
"Muhammad Ali and George Go and fight in Zaire, then there's Thrilla in Manila, there's a big fight in Jamaica. They go where the money is and these people will do the same," he continued.
