So Sweet! Khabib Nurmagomedov Ends His Career To BE An MMA Coach For More Time For The Family

Khabib Nurmagomedov ended his career as MMA coach. This step was taken to focus on taking care of the family and enjoying time with his children.

Initially, Khabib decided to retire as a UFC fighter in October 2022. But he feels he can't be far from the world that made his name.

He then chose to become MMA coach.

Khabib got great success from his new profession in 2022 while training Islam Makhachev. He managed to bring his team to the UFC lightweight title which he previously secured.

He also got success when he handled Usman Nurmagomedov to get a Bellator belt.

All these achievements did not make him bright. He finally decided to leave MMA, both as a fighter and a coach.

The former 34-year-old fighter hinted that he would stay away from the MMA world, as quoted by The Sun.

Take care of yourself well, brothers and sisters. I hope my decision is only for the best, a big hug for all of you. Thank you, you are a big reason for my success in sports," wrote Khabib on his Instagram @khabib_nurmagomedov.

Khabib's decision to retire was also confirmed by Russian athlete Tass. He confirmed that Khabib had no longer joined the team and chose to retire.

"He will no longer train, will not be present with the team at the training center," said Tass.

"It was done to spend more time with family," he continued.

Meanwhile, Shamil Zavurov, who is Khabib's best friend, also confirmed the news of this retirement by uploading a photo together.

"He left this sport, but the spirit of sport will never leave him," wrote Shamil in his statement.

Khabib's retirement will make his students Makhachev inevitably have to face the UFC lightweight title betting agenda without the coach.

Makhachev will face featherweight champion Alexander Volkanowski at UFC 284 at Perth, Australia on 11 February.
