Mercedes-Benz Will Build Its Own EV Charging Network In North America
JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz announced a long-term plan to launch a global high-power EV charging network across North America, Europe, China, and other major markets.
The German automaker said the high data filler would be built this year in the US and Canada, followed by other regions around the world, with the ultimate goal of having a full network before the end of the decade, when Mercedes-Benz intends to switch to all-electricity wherever market conditions allow.
Mercedes-Benz charging centers will be located in key cities and urban population centers, close to major arteries, convenient retail destinations, and services, including the location of participating Mercedes dealer bankBenz.

At the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) taking place in Las Vegas, Mercedes-Benz announced that the launch of a high charging network will begin this year in North America, with its collaboration with MN8 Energy and ChargePoint.
In 2027, a network of more than 400 hubs across North America with more than 2,500 high chargers is planned to offer a premium, sustainable and reliable charging experience.
Mercedes-Benz already offers what we believe is the best EV in the market. But to speed up the electric transformation, we need to make sure that the charging experience goes on as well. Our customers deserve an exciting charging experience that makes ownership of electric vehicles and long-distance travel easy," said Ola Klallenius, Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Group AG Management Board in an announcement shared on Twitter.
According to him, this charger is designed to be another different from Mercedes-Benz ownership. And with his partner in North America, Mercedes is very excited about its launch.
The Hub to be offered will depend on the region and location. There is a hub that offers 4 to 12 and in the end as many as 30, high-power chargers (HPCs) with up to 350 kW of charging power.
In line with the sustainable 2039 'Ambition' business strategy, Mercedes-Benz strives to allow its customers to charge with environmentally friendly energy on its own charging network.
