Secretary General Of Perbasi Nirmala Dewi Calls The Legend House Of Basketball Toni Wen In Bangka Will Be Made A Museum

Secretary General of the Central Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) Nirmala Dewi stated that the house of basketball legend Toni Wen in Sungailiat, Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province will be used as a museum.

"We really support PT Timah Tbk making Toni Wen's house a museum," said Nirmala Dewi in Pangkalpinang, Sunday, quoted by Antara.

He stated that the Central Perbasi Management on Saturday had made a tip to the legendary Toni Wen's house in Sungailiat and the house of the Perbasi founder is still in good condition and well maintained.

"The first chairman of Perbasi Toni Wen is not only popular in basketball, but he is also famous in football and this is a history that must be known by the nation's generation, especially Bangka Belitung," he said.

Chairman of Central Perbasi Danny Kosasih stated that Toni Wen was the first Perbasi Chair in Indonesia and he was the one appointed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno as Chairman of Perbasi in 1951.

"The first chairman and founder of Perbasi are Bangka Belitung people," he said.

He hopes that Toni Wen's house in Sungailiat must be maintained, as proof that basketball history starts from Bangka Belitung.

"We hope that the legendary basketball from Babel Toni Wen can be made a national hero," he said.
