The KPK Ensures That Enforcement In 2023 Is Not Related To Political Year

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) predicts allegations that its political institutions will emerge because prosecution can target politicians. Moreover, the election is in sight.

"We realize that because at this time the gateway to 2024 which we call the political year, the work of the KPK must always be related to politics," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, January 5.

Even so, Ali ensured that the KPK would work according to the corridor. Every law enforcement will be carried out in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.

The KPK, continued Ali, will also not interfere in the five-year contestation. Political movements will not affect the work of prosecution.

"We ensure that all KPK work, programs related to the field of prosecution have nothing to do with political affairs," he said.

It is confirmed that the KPK is not indiscriminate in investigating allegations of corruption. "Moreover, targeting. No. It has never been done by the KPK," said Ali.

Furthermore, Ali asked the public not to associate the performance of its agencies with political activities in the country. Law enforcement and political movements are two different domains.

"We hope that whoever the community is, don't always associate what the KPK is doing, it is always associated with politics. Because we are law enforcement agencies," he concluded.
