Once Prohibited Fighters Do Domestic Violence, UFC Bos Memorang Berhitung Hingga Menampar Sang Istri
JAKARTA - UFC President Dana White issued an apology to the public after circulating video clips showing him slapping his wife
The shooting incident occurred when the couple attended a New Year's Eve party in Mexico. White was seen fighting his wife Anne before being separated from the people who were there.
The 53-year-old man grabbed Anne's arm before slapping her twice.
"I was one of the men who said there was never a reason for a man to touch a woman. It was a terrible situation. I was embarrassed," he was quoted as saying by The Sun.
"We have three children and since the video was circulating, we have shown the children and are more focused on our family now," he added.
White is one of the vocals with domestic violence issues. He had previously emphasized to UFC fighters that they would not be allowed back if they engage in domestic violence.
"People will have their opinion on this and people's opinion will be correct, especially in my case. You never touch a woman, forever," he said.
Meanwhile Anne said an incident like this had never happened before. According to her, her husband does not have a character like that.
"Unfortunately, we both drank too much on New Year's Eve and things got out of hand. We've talked about this as a family and apologized to each other," he added.
The couple who married in 1996 is known to have three children.
