BI Calls The Request For Goods And Services In DIY Up During December 2022
YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Special Region of Bank Indonesia Representative Office said that the demand for goods and services in this province increased during December 2022, influenced by community mobility during the year-end holidays.
"The increase in community mobility, especially in welcoming the end of the year, encourages increased demand for goods and services from both the Yogyakarta community and tourists visiting DIY," said BI DIY Representative Office Director Budiharto Setyawan as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 3.
Budiharto said that the results of the Bank Indonesia Consumer Survey (SK) recorded a Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) in December 2022 of 133.6 points, or higher than November 127.8 points.
Meanwhile, the results of the Liaison survey stated that the business field for providing accommodation and food and drink had increased, indicating an increase in hotel, restaurant and catering (horeka) activities in line with the increase in tourism activities.
"It is recorded that the Likert (bipolar scale method) scale measuring either positive or negative responses to a statement) the business field providing accommodation and food and drink increased from 16.08 in the third quarter to 16.26 in the fourth quarter of 2022," he said.
Based on BPS data, the DIY Consumer Price Index (CPI) in December 2022 experienced inflation of 0.65 percent (mtm).
According to Budiharto, the volatile food price group (volatile food) contributed 0.30 percent to inflation and the price group regulated by the government (administered prices) contributed 0.65 percent.
Based on commodities, he said, the main contributors to inflationary pressure in DIY came from air transportation rates, broiler eggs, jewelry gold, non-host repairmen, and tomatoes.
In the administered price group, inflationary pressure was triggered by an increase in air and rail transport rates in line with increasing demand during holidays and national religious holidays (HBKN).
Meanwhile, in terms of volatile food, broiler eggs make major donations to inflation.
"The increase in inflation is further restrained by the deflation of red chilies, melinjo leaves, and bananas," he said.
The commodity of red chilies continues to be deflation supported by the availability of supplies including through off-season agriculture on the coast and slopes of Mount Merapi as well as the intensive movement to plant fast harvest crops including urban farming as part of the implementation of the National Food Inflation Control Movement (GNPIP).
"Melinjo and banana commodities are experiencing deflation in line with the increasing supply," said Budiharto.
