Sah! Vice Admiral Muhammad Ali Inaugurated To Become KSAL Replace Admiral Yudo Margono
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated Vice Admiral Muhammad Ali as Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) replacing Admiral Yudo Margono who is now the TNI Commander. The inauguration took place today, Wednesday, December 28.
From the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, the inauguration was held at the State Palace, Jakarta at 09.30 WIB. The activity was carried out by implementing health protocols.
A number of ministers and invitees attended this activity. Among them are Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD; TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono; and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
This inauguration began with singing the anthem Indonesia Raya. Furthermore, the decision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 100 TNI of 2022 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of KSAL was read by the Secretary of the Military President, Laksda Hersan.
"Decided to honorably dismiss Admiral Yudo Margono from his position as Chief of Naval Staff," the Presidential Decree read out as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.
"To appoint Vice Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali as Chief of Naval Staff," the Presidential Decree continued.
After the decree was read, President Jokowi then led the oath-taking of the KSAL.
"By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state," said Ali following the oath of office read by President Jokowi.
"That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of my position, work as well as possible, with a full sense of responsibility. That I will uphold the oath of soldiers," he added.
After the oath of office was read, Ali signed the minutes of his appointment as KSAL. The National Police Chief and the TNI Commander acted as witnesses.
Next, Ali got a promotion based on Presidential Decree No. 101 TNI of 2022. He is now a Admiral.
