Inka Christie Inspired Nike Ardilla To Become A Rocker

JAKARTA - Inka Christie became one of Indonesia's lady rocker icons in the 1990s. The woman who was born in Bandung, January 20, 1975 was even known to Malaysia, through her duet with Amy Search who performed the song Cinta Kita.

However, who would have thought that at first Inka didn't think of becoming a singer at all, until finally Nike Ardilla, her friend from childhood in Bandung, told her to become a singer.

At first, Inka wasn't very enthusiastic about being a singer, but she always saw Inka sing, then said 'you have a good voice', 'the group is Inka has to record like Eneng'. So it's really motivating, right. Finally, I don't know if the road is that possible, when I was a singer, he was very happy," said Inka Christie when met in Sarinah, Central Jakarta on Monday, December 26.

When Inka Christie became a professional singer, his friendship with Nike Ardilla became closer. On many occasions when he became a performer at a music concert, Nike asked the organizers to include Inka as his packaging'.

"If we show in Palu, outside the island or show anywhere, we usually ask for packages. So, until the end of his life, every time we show together, sometimes one stage and sometimes sing together," said Inka Christie.

However, the beautiful story of the friendship of the two lady rockers must be separated by death. Nike Ardilla died at the age of 19, after the car she was traveling in had a traffic accident.

Inka revealed that during her life she and Nike Ardila dreamed of singing duet songs, but it could not be done because her best friend had already been called the Creator.

However, there are 2 songs, I want to be alone and love us, both of which have been sung in different recording times.

Most recently, Inka realized her dream of a duet with the late Nike Ardilla through the song Cinta Kita which is contained in the album Karya Besar: From Friends to Nike Ardilla Vol.1.
