The Jabodebek LRT Is Sought To Be Able To Operate In July 2023
YOGYAKARTA - There is good news, the government of the Jabodebek LRT light rail transit mode will operate commercially at the end of July 2023. This morning, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) along with ministers and a number of other high-ranking officials carried out a trial of the LRT from Harjamukti to Taman Mini Indonesia with a distance of nine kilometers with a travel duration of 12 minutes.
In a press statement at Manggarai Station, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that the Jabodebek LRT could go up to 80 km/hour and without a driver.
"Earlier, the president mentioned it, because I was right inside saying 'Wow, this is delicious, yes, it's not shaking, it's not noisy, it's fast again'. The president asked for this to be resolved immediately," said Budi Karya.
Based on him, the LRT project has actually been completed. However, synchronization of the way is needed.
"Imagine that the train will arrive every 3 minutes from the new train. Of course, the communication should be seen, up to the stop, it must be right on the scheduled departure," said Budi Karya.

President Director of PT KAI Didiek Hartantyo added that Jokowi has a great interest in the Jabodebek LRT project, marked by an immediate test today.
"The train runs without a driver, so it is driven from the operational control center in Bekasi, so now the cross-service test is complete," he said.
After that, based on Didiek, Harjamukti to Dukuh Atas and Cawang service tests will be carried out to East Bekasi.
"Hopefully, at the end of June or the end of July 2023, we will operate the LRT," he said.
Furthermore, Didiek estimates that in the first year, there will be 137 thousand passengers transported.
"With a relatively cheap price, and with the application of electronic payments," said Didiek.
Whose program is the Jabodebek LRT?
This LRT method is still under construction progress which is planned to be operated by PT Kereta Api Indonesia. The construction of the Jabodebek LRT involves four SOEs, namely PT Adhi Karya, PT Len Industri, PT INKA, and PT Kereta Api Indonesia. It is targeted that the Jabodebek LRT will start operating in June 2023.

The Jakarta LRT train will be operated at an average speed of around 50 KM/Jam and can travel a maximum speed of up to 90 KM/Jam.
