In Karawang, Kembang Api Is Prohibited At New Year's Eve, Let Alone Petasan
KARAWANG - The Karawang Regency Government, West Java, has banned the public and business actors from using firecrackers and fireworks in celebration of New Year's Eve 2023.
The Regent of Karawang Cellica Nurrachadiana, in Karawang, said that his party had submitted a circular regarding the prohibition on the use of firecrackers and fireworks during Christmas and New Year celebrations.
"This provision is in accordance with the results of cross-sectoral technical coordination meetings related to securing Christmas and New Year," he said, quoted from Antara, December 24.
In the regent's circular number: 443/8245/Disparbud, Christmas and New Year celebration activities are not allowed to use fireworks and firecrackers in any form.
The circular has been distributed to all tourism business actors in the Karawang area.
According to him, tourism business actors, especially hotel managers who want to hold New Year's Eve celebrations, are asked to comply with the provisions for prohibiting the use of fireworks and firecrackers.
In the circular, it was stated that there were no restrictions on operating hours for New Year's Eve celebration activities for tourism business actors.
However, the regent said that the community and tourism business actors would still comply with health protocols, in accordance with applicable regulations.
Meanwhile, at this Christmas and New Year celebration, the police from the Karawang Police deployed 550 personnel.
The hundreds of police personnel will be assisted by other personnel consisting of the TNI, PMI, communities, and ranks of the Karawang Regency Government.
For the number of joint personnel who will be deployed to secure Christmas and New Year as many as 980 people.
